« My style is inspired mostly by American folk art. Over the years I have blended my love of American folk art, early modern art, and textural, brushy elements of embroidery and needle art. »
Initially studying Computer Science, Joy went on to gain a MA in Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art. Now an experienced full-time freelance designer, Joy appreciates the value of being able to create beautiful, intricate work quickly.
Inspired by natural themes; florals, birds, butterflies, patterns, and pretty landscape scenes, Joy Laforme loves British trends and attracts strong interest from clients.
Yellow House have licensed her art work to The Art Group, Jaccart, Camden Graphics, Papyrus (USA) & Edward Everett Root Publishing.
Working in a variety of mediums to achieve her aesthetic including gouache, acrylic paints, and digital illustration, Joy is experienced at designing three-dimensional mock-up sheets, thinking around a myriad of possible applications of her designs to different products.
